What an event it was! From happy and anticipated first meetings to protracted and reluctant goodbyes, our reunion weekend was a joyful encounter of classmates and friends. Folks constantly gathered together, not only at the reunion events, but at breakfast, at the hotel bar, in small group gatherings, and on mini tours of Dumont and other familiar sights.
With less than two weeks until our 50th reunion, we want to let everyone know that event plans are on schedule and just about complete. The following are a few things to keep in mind for the reunion weekend:
We've all received those wonderful, or not so wonderful, e-mails containing jokes, political commentary, prayers, etc. Circulating recently have been links to sites singing, in some cases literally, the joys of the good old days. With our 50th reunion fast approaching with all its accompanying nostalgia, here are a couple of those links that may make you want to get up and dance the Dumont drag or just contemplate times gone by.
Here we are in July with only a couple of months remaining until our reunion weekend. With the help of many of our classmates, we have been reaching out to folks to remind them of the reunion events and to send in their bio information and current picture. The absolute deadline for bios is August 3rd. Many thanks to everyone who has made phone calls and sent e-mails to encourage the participation of all our class members.
The 50's and 60's certainly left their imprint on our culture. Through the lens of TV, the following links are sure to cause some nostalgia for the times in which we grew up. Thanks to Elayne Gwardyak Hallstrom for this amusing discovery.Â
Because we do not have a current e-mail address for all class members, we have not been able to provide everyone with a confirmation regarding the receipt of his or her bio form. If your name is on the following list, your bio form has been received either electronically or by regular mail. If you have any doubt about the receipt of your form by the Reunion Committee, please let us know through the Contact page on this web site or by sending an e-mail to dhsreunion1960@hotmail.com. This list will be updated on a regular basis as bio forms are received.
Recently, an e-mail was sent out to all classmates for whom we had e-mail addresses. In order to reach more of you in this manner, we are trying to update our class list with those e-mail addresses that we are missing or are out of date. If you did not receive an e-mail from the Reunion Committee on or about May 17, 2010, that means we do not have a current e-mail address for you. It would be very helpful, if you would provide your e-mail address to us by using either the Contact function on our web site or by e-mailing the Reunion Committee at dhsreunion1960@hotmail.com with the information. Being able to communicate with folks by e-mail has been a big asset in answering questions and providing information, and we anticipate that, going forward, there will be more occasions to do so. Thanks for your help with this.
